What it is
A live platform where school students find tutors, book sessions and work towards specific goals, including preparation for competitions.
I built the product, and I tutor physics, computer science, mathematics and biology on it.
Why it exists
The tutoring I found as a student either came from chain agencies matching on availability and price, or through parents' personal contacts. Neither option matched students and tutors by learning goals. We look for tutors who learned the material recently and remember which explanations helped.
Our tutors are usually two or three years ahead of their students. The platform matches by subject and goal, then checks availability. Parents have a separate view because they usually handle payment.
What I got wrong
RoMaMunich, the first version, offered premium one-to-one mentoring and depended on us as individual tutors. I rebuilt it around matching students with a larger tutor network.
Where it stands
The platform is live, and tutors and students are using it.
